Baramulla, Mar 30 (KNO): Accusing the Power development department (PDD) of ignoring their plights, the residents of several Kandai villages in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district here have demanded immediate redrassal of their grievances. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the residents of Kandi villages including Chandoosa, Hudipora, Walaraman, Khaitangan and others alleged that PDD officials are taking them for granted and are not performing their duties well. The residents said that "Authorities are completely neglecting us, we are reeling under darkness and it is adding to our sufferings." People alleged that the department is not even adhering to the power schedule. They said that they are being told that 33000 line has developed some snag. Advocate Aasif Wani, a resident of Hudipora told –KNO that “we are being given step motherly treatment in every aspect." Wani further said that they have tried to raise the issue with higher ups but all in vein. The students of these villages are worst sufferers. A group of students feel that their villages get attention only during elections and once elections are over, people again plunge in huge sufferings and then nobody cares. Meanwhile, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Wagoora, Riyaz Ahamd told—KNO that the power paucity is the outcome of overloading by the consumers, saying that a snag was developed in the area due to overloading, adding that the electricity will be restored fully soon as the officials are working over it – (KNO)
